First Annual RIT Venture Capital Forum

This three-day workshop will provide students with a robust understanding of venture capitalists and the process of early-stage fundraising and investing. Guest speakers, panel discussions, and company visits will provide students with a complete overview of the important relationship between entrepreneurs seeking funding and the venture capitalists that provide investment capital.

Additional topics will include:

  • The due diligence process
  • Structuring deals and term sheets 
  • Corporate governance and legal structures
  • Intellectual property management
  • Exit strategies
     

These topics will be discussed from the perspective of both the entrepreneur and the venture capitalist. If you are a student with a demonstrated passion for pursing entrepreneurial opportunities, apply today!

Trip Dates: March 10th – 14th, 2019

Location: Silicon Valley, California

Details: Acceptance into this in-depth program will be limited to a select group of students that can truly demonstrate a passion for entrepreneurship. The RIT Venture Fund will cover most of the expenses associated with attending this program, including:

  • Round-trip airfare between your home city (or Rochester) and San Francisco
  • 4 nights (maximum) in a hotel
  • Ground transportation
  • Most meals

Accepted students will be required to submit a non-refundable $250 deposit to hold their place in this program.

How to Apply: Applications should be submitted to 2019 RIT Venture Capital Forum by October 26, 2018

Applications must include:

A one-page resume and a one-page cover letter that demonstrates your passion for entrepreneurship and entrepreneurial abilities, the experiences that have brought you to this point, your future aspirations, and what you hope to gain by attending this forum. You must also obtain a letter of recommendation from a faculty member and/or mentor and you must be in good academic standing with the university.

Accepted students will be notified on a rolling basis, but not later than December 1, 2018. The $250 non-refundable deposit is due no later than December 1, 2018.
