Providing Comprehensive Reproductive Care at RIT

Dear RIT Students,

The recent decision by the U.S. Supreme Court to overturn Roe vs. Wade has prompted a range of emotions and reactions throughout our nation and community. This decision will not impact reproductive health care in the state of New York, where Governor Kathy Hochul has reaffirmed her commitment to the state law. Yet we acknowledge the personal, socioeconomic, and disruptive effect this action will have on people throughout the U.S., particularly in states where reproductive health options have been significantly impacted.

I am writing to affirm that RIT remains committed to ensuring that all students have the resources and support they need to thrive physically and mentally; this includes a firm commitment to reproductive health care and wellbeing. The RIT Student Health Center will continue to provide comprehensive reproductive care for all students across all of their reproductive health needs.

As a reminder, we as a community must remain steadfast in our belief in equality, justice, and respect for all. Therefore, I urge you to stay informed and engaged. At RIT, we believe that a culture of care includes our collective support for civil discourse and respect, no matter how uncomfortable or controversial the topic of discussion may be.
