RIT Press publications win awards

The RIT Press book title, Communicating Knowledge Visually: Will Burtin's Scientific Approach to Information Design, won the Association of University Presses 2022 Book, Jacket, and Journal Show, in the scholarly illustrated category. The book was written by RIT professor emeritus R. Roger Remington and Sheila Pontis, and designed by Bruce Ian Meader, who recently retired from RIT. In addition, another RIT Press publication won national recognition. Up Against the Wall: Art, Activism and the AIDS Poster, by Donald Albrecht, Jessica Lacher-Feldman, and Dr. William Valenti, won a gold medal from Foreword Review magazine’s Forward Indies awards in the popular culture category and was a finalist in the art category. The book also won a gold medal from the Independent Publisher “IPPY” awards, in the U.S. Northeast–Best Regional Non-Fiction category.
