RIT Plans Rally of Hope March 22 in Support of Missing Student

‘Students Finding George Delany’ seeks help in spreading information on his disappearance

George Delany

As authorities continue their search for Rochester Institute of Technology student George Delany, members of the campus community will gather in support of efforts that they hope will bring him back safely.

A community rally takes place from 5 to 7 p.m. March 22 in Global Village Plaza on the RIT campus. The public is invited to attend.

Everyone taking part will be encouraged to sign a banner expressing support for Delany, his family and friends. In addition, members of “Students Finding George Delany” will discuss efforts to share information about the search online—encouraging those attending to join the group’s Facebook page. Students have also been busy in recent days handing out and posting fliers.

“We want people to understand that if they see something or have even a small piece of information, they should call the number on that flier,” James Brigden, Students Finding George Delany organizer. We want them to know they can play an important role in finding George.”

Delany is a third-year political science major from Frederick, Md. Anyone with information that might aid in this search is asked to call State Police at 585-398-4100.

MEDIA NOTE: Parking is available curbside in S Lot, near the south entrance to Global Village.
