Distinguished Alumni honoree is regular contributor to CNN and CBS ‘Early Show’

Katie Linendoll, Emmy Award-winning personality, technology expert and Rochester Institute of Technology alumna, returns to her alma mater to deliver a talk, “Innovation in Technology,” at 1 p.m. April 8 as part of the B. Thomas Golisano College of Computing and Information Sciences Dean’s Lecture Series. The talk, which is free and open to the public, will be held in RIT’s Golisano Hall auditorium.

From jetpacks to robotic lifeguards and military robots, Linendoll will share an insider’s preview related to an array of technologies during her presentation. She will also have tips on how to turn a passion into a career.

Linendoll frequently shares her expertise on CNN and the CBS Early Show. She is also a regular contributor to publications like People, People Style Watch, Marie Claire, Shape and Fitness. Prior to working on-air, she gained behind-the-scenes experience with ESPN and won an Emmy Award as associate producer for SportsCenter.

Linendoll graduated from RIT in 2005 with a bachelor’s degree in information technology. She is being recognized as the 2011 recipient of the Distinguished Alumni Award presented by RIT’s Golisano College.
