RIT Brings Jazz History to the Performance Stage April 29

“A History of Ragtime” is the final concert for the 2010–2011 season of RIT’s Performing Artists Concert Series. The performance will be held April 29 in Ingle Auditorium, Student Alumni Union.

The final installment of Rochester Institute of Technology’s Performing Artists Concert Series for the 2010–2011 season features a romp through jazz history at 8 p.m. April 29 in RIT’s Ingle Auditorium, Student Alumni Union.

“The History of Ragtime” features an impressive lineup of well-known musicians including Rod Blumenau (piano and saxophone), Herb Smith and Jonathan Kruger (trumpet and cornet), Mark Kellogg (trombone), Jeff Campbell (tuba), Warren Stirtzinger (banjo), Cindy Miller (vocals) and Mark Lasser (narrator).

Tickets—$5 for students, $15 for faculty/staff/alumni and $20 for the general public—can be purchased at Bytes-on-the-Run in the Student Alumni Union, or at the Gordon Field House and Activities Center box office.
