Saunders College of Business ranked No. 35 of schools listed in U.S. News & World Report’s Best Online Graduate Business Programs for 2014.

Saunders College of Business at Rochester Institute of Technology ranked No. 35 of schools listed in U.S. News & World Report’s Best Online Graduate Business Programs for 2014.

“Looking at those 35 schools, among those that offer online Executive MBA programs, Saunders would be fifth,” said Saunders College Dean dt ogilvie. “Our strategy is to redefine executive excellence with a flexible online program that emphasizes the rigor of RIT. Saunders overall rankings rising from No. 41 last year to No. 35 this year is a testament to the increasing quality of our online Executive MBA program and an excellent reflection of the high quality of Saunders faculty and programs.”

The RIT online Executive MBA is an accelerated degree program that delivers 49 credit hours in 17 months of study. The small class sizes coupled with the cohort-based learning model and highly committed faculty creates a collaborative experience as students progress through the program together. In addition to pursuing excellence through coursework, Saunders EMBA students are required to participate in two residencies: one on the RIT campus and another in an international immersion experience focused on innovation and technology. Locations for previous classes have included Prague, Milan, Munich, Budapest, Istanbul, Dubai and China.

“Our mission is to deliver graduates with a competitive edge in the market,” said Marty Lawlor, director of Saunders Online Executive MBA program. “This ranking is strong validation that we are executing our plan—attracting high-performing students and engaging them with a relevant curriculum and exceptional faculty.”

U.S. News sent statistical questionnaires to more than 200 regionally accredited public, private and for-profit institutions that offer master’s degree programs online. The methodology for computing overall scores has undergone a significant change for the 2014 rankings—with decreased emphasis on admissions selectivity and peer reputation and increased weight on student engagement, faculty credentials and training, and student services and technology.
