Accommodations

RIT Housing provides the best living environment for students who are in pursuit of successful college experiences where they can develop friendships, be inspired to work on creative projects, and engage in new experiences in a safe and residential atmosphere.

Global Village

Global Village, a LEED Certified Silver building, embraces all that campus living has to offer while being globally responsible. Situated on the west side of campus, this suite-life living is located in RIT’s Global Village and steps from global-inspired dining, fair trade and local shopping, relaxing, and fitness facilities with close access to academic buildings.

Modern interiors complement a mix of 4 to 6 person suites and studio apartments with communal spaces for gaming and socializing. This Upperclass student residence is supported by a Resident Advisor while embracing independent living.

Perkins Green

The neighborhood is situated in a park-like setting that is a short walk to academic buildings, allowing a separation between campus and home.

The community is close-knit with greenspace for gathering outdoors with friends. Perkins Green is a great value for the student looking for a furnished, budget-friendly option with the comfort of roommates or the privacy of a 1-bedroom.

University Commons

A short walk to academic buildings, University Commons is one of the most sought-after housing options. These suites offer all-inclusive living spaces for independent Upperclass students.

The modern interior features a fully equipped, open concept kitchen and living room for gathering with friends. Four students to an apartment; each has a private furnished bedroom with a full-size bed, share two bathrooms, and has laundry in-unit.

The RIT Inn & Conference Center

The RIT Inn offers students an amenity-rich living experience and is ideal for those with independent lifestyles. Premium amenities come at a great value and include air conditioning, indoor pool and sauna, on-site fitness center, bi-weekly housekeeping, and on-site dining.

The RIT Inn is the only off-campus housing option supported by the RIT Center for Residence Life. The RIT Shuttle provides free rides to and from campus or students can commute by car and receive a free, reserved on-campus parking pass.

Please note that when applying for housing, your preferences will be taken into consideration but placement in your top choice is not guaranteed.

Living Off Campus

Many students, especially graduate students, choose to live off campus. The rent may be lower than on campus, but be aware of additional costs (utilities, fees, furniture rental, etc.) that vary greatly from place to place. A very important consideration is access to a bus line. Be sure to check the Rochester public bus map and only rent an apartment that is served by a bus line. The only off-campus apartments that are within walking distance of RIT are The Province and Park Point. You will need access to #24 bus if you choose to live anywhere else.

RIT's Off Campus and Commuter Services (OCCS) assists students who are commuting to RIT from off-campus residences. Their services will be available to you once you arrive.

If you decide that off campus housing is the best option for you, please note that you will have to manage any housing contracts, as well as the purchasing or moving of furniture without the assistance of the RIT Global staff.
