Maureen’s responsibilities include advising students about study abroad opportunities with RIT global campuses in Croatia, Dubai, and Kosovo, and RIT exchange programs. She assists students and faculty with the visa process. Maureen is the main contact for RIT Rochester students studying abroad in Croatia, Dubai and Kosovo and students will need to meet with Maureen if they are interested in studying abroad for a semester in these locations.
Mjellma started at RIT Kosovo in 2010 as the Executive Assistant in the President's Office. In 2011, she assisted with the Summer Program in 'Peacebuilding Post Conflict Transformation and Development' and in 2012 she became a Manager of the program. She provides support to all incoming students, exchange students and students participating in the Summer Program about faculty, courses, trips, accommodation, and life in Pristina.
Mjellma completed her undergraduate degree at the University of Pristina, Kosovo and her graduate degree at Staffordshire University, United Kingdom. She grew up in Pristina and Europe. She lived in Amsterdam, Holland for two years and moved to Antwerp, Belgium where she finished high school. Mjellma came back to Kosovo in 1999 to visit her family and decided to stay and help her country rebuild. She has three kids that she adores and loves traveling with her family.
