Griffith takes over as new alumni board president
Victoria Decker Griffith BS ’93 began her tenure as president of the Alumni Association Board of Directors in January. Griffith has been active in the RIT community for years, attending regional events, participating in ROAR Day initiatives, and being involved with her sorority, Zeta Tau Alpha. In 2009, she was the recipient of RIT’s Volunteer of the Year award.

Phil Castleberry named vice president for Development and Alumni Relations
Phillip D. Castleberry, a 20-year veteran of higher education advancement and fundraising, was selected as the new vice president for Development and Alumni Relations after a nationwide search. He began his RIT duties on Feb. 1.

Loyal Tiger: Andrea Shaver Carpenter BFA ’17
As a student, Andrea learned that she could give to areas at RIT that were important to her along with her husband, fellow alum Andrew Carpenter BS ’17. They have chosen to support areas of the university that were important to them so that they could “pay it forward” to other students.

RIT celebrates Frozen Four 10-year anniversary
RIT’s Frozen Four hockey memories are frozen in time. The success of the RIT’s men’s hockey team was one of the most inspiring stories in college hockey in 2010, and RIT celebrated the ten year anniversary last month.

RIT/NTID alumna performs at the Super Bowl
Internationally renowned performer, artist, and RIT/NTID alumna Christine Sun Kim BS ’02 performed the National Anthem and “America the Beautiful” in American Sign Language as part of the Super Bowl pregame festivities at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami.

Class Notes
Nancy Weigle ’94 (CIAS) and her husband celebrated their 20th anniversary in the fall of 2019. They also celebrated his 50th birthday by attending an RIT Women’s Hockey game at Penn State
Victor Santiago BFA ’13 (CIAS) was one of thirty men honored in this year’s awardees of the Thirty Under 30, an award presented by his fraternity, Pi Kappa Phi.
Leslie Figueroa ’91 (KGCOE) visited campus in September 2019 after being away for 28 years. She was a little disoriented until she found the tiger. Wow, how the campus has changed!
