RIT wins $1.4M to help homeless with opioid addiction, mental illness

RIT is working on a federally funded program to make addiction treatment and mental health services accessible to homeless people via remote technology. The goal is to improve treatment outcomes for under-served populations.

RIT cybersecurity research recognized at conference in London

A team of RIT student and faculty researchers is working to better understand a new website fingerprinting attack that uses a machine-learning technique called “triplet-loss learning.” This is one of four RIT cybersecurity research teams being honored at the ACM Conference on Computer and Communications Security (CCS), Nov. 11-15 in London.

NSF grant helps RIT researcher build a synthetic neuron and neural network

Associate Professor Moumita Das is teaming up with researchers from six other universities to build synthetic neurons and a programmable network of such neurons in an effort to better understand the rules of life. The project is part of the National Science Foundation’s “Big Ideas” initiative.

These alumni were honored at the Presidents’ Alumni Ball during Brick City Weekend. Each alumni was featured in an exclusive video that premiered at the Ball.

Kevin J. Surace BT ’85 was named Outstanding Alum of 2019 at the Presidents’ Alumni Ball during Brick City Homecoming and Family Weekend. This is the highest honor RIT can bestow upon an alumni.

Kevin Smith exemplified the three principals of Phi Delta Theta—friendship, sound learning, and moral rectitude. This is why each year a memorial scholarship in Kevin’s name is awarded to a Phi Delta Theta NYh brother. To honor Kevin and provide the scholarships for current and future brothers, members of Phi Delta Theta are asking all RIT alumni to support their crowdfunding campaign.
