Transforming RIT
RIT alum strengthens RIT/Genesee Country Village & Museum partnership with $1.3 million gift
RIT has received a $1.3 million gift to endow its partnership between the university and Genesee Country Village & Museum. The gift comes from RIT alum Philip Wehrheim BS ’66 and his wife, Anne.

Alum named NASA director
Clayton Turner BS ’90 was named the new director of NASA’s Langley Research Center in Hampton, Va. Turner will also be recognized this fall as a distinguished alum for RIT’s Kate Gleason College of Engineering.

10 years of RIT's Metaproject
Since 2010, Metaproject has paired RIT student designers with a client partner in what has become a seminal project for the university’s nationally ranked industrial design program. This year’s project celebrates both the 10th anniversary of Metaproject and RIT’s Vignelli Center for Design Studies.

Research success grows
RIT had another highly successful year in sponsored research funding and a record year for research expenditures. RIT received 366 new awards and submitted a record 731 research proposals for fiscal year 2019 (July 1, 2018 to June 30, 2019).

Edward Wolf ’09 (KGCOE) and his wife Elizabeth Ihidoy-Wolf are overjoyed to announce the birth of their second daughter, Cora, who was born on July 2, 2019.
Anthony Macri ’08 (KGCOE) and his wife Alisha celebrated the birth of their first child, Margaret Clare, in May 2019.
Erin (Schmidtmann) Purington ’10 (COS) and Jonathan Purington ’10 (COS) welcomed their second child, Jasper Thomas, on March 4, 2019.
Jon Yerger ’70 (KGCOE) is a founder, first chairman and a current member of the Board of Directors of the NFP 501(c)(3) Volunteers Improving Neighborhood Environments(VINES).
In March 2019,Mona Samaan-Ockenden ’94 (CAST) launched Mona Moon Naturals a natural deodorant and skincare company. All products are hand made in Fairport, NY.
For the sixth consecutive year, Brett Hall ’05 (CIAS) was nominated for a Daytime Emmy for the PBS Kids seriesPeg + Cat.
