Advanced Certificate in AI in CS

The CS department is offering a 12 credit ‘Advanced Certificate in Artificial Intelligence in Computer Science’ with the start of the fall term 2020. The ‘Advanced Certificate in Artificial Intelligence in Computer Science’ is a program intended for traditional graduate students, as well as professionals, who want to advance understanding of Artificial Intelligence. Students will learn how to apply Deep Learning/Natural Language processing/Knowledge Representation to solve problems which have been considered unsolvable until recently. Some students will even advance the science significantly.

The program consists of two required 3-credit courses, CSCI-630 Foundation of Artificial Intelligence, and CSCI-635 Introduction to Machine Learning, and two electives selected from a broad set of 3-credit courses relating to the Artificial Intelligence. The ‘Advanced Certificate in Artificial Intelligence in Computer Science’ requires 12 credits for graduation.

The typical student admitted to the certificate program is assumed to have an undergraduate degree in science, computing, or engineering, with a college level experience of probability and statistics, knowledge of computer programming. Students will have to take bridge courses if they do not have the required knowledge.
