Lecture to Teach Students How to Transition to Workplace April 9

With graduation on the horizon, many Rochester Institute of Technology students are pondering what life will be like when they enter the workforce. Croswell Chambers, director of client management services for Lexmark International’s Printing Solutions and Services Division, will help prepare students for that transition in his talk, “Making a Successful Transition from Academia to Workplace.”

The event, which is part of the annual B. Thomas Golisano College of Computing and Information Sciences’ Dean’s Lecture Series, takes place at 1 p.m. Friday in the Golisano College auditorium.

“We continuously strive to prepare our students for successful careers in the workforce,” says Jorge Díaz-Herrera, dean of the college. “The message that Croswell Chambers will deliver in his lecture will be an important part of that preparation. Croswell will share his experiences and discuss how an RIT education helped him prepare for a successful career in the workforce.”

Chambers, who is also a 2010 recipient of RIT’s Distinguished Alumni Award and a 1988 computer science graduate, believes there are three key elements of professional success and will detail each of them in his presentation. The talk is open to the public but seating is limited.
