Speaker: Dave Kosak Game designer, writer and creative technology consultant. Dave Kosak is a videogame industry veteran; one of the original founders of GameSpy and its first creative director before joining Blizzard Entertainment, where he spent 12 years and worked in design and narrative leadership roles on World of Warcraft and Hearthstone. Today, he is the founder of Word Smith & Wright, working in creative and design consulting for interactive entertainment.

About the lecture: The videogame industry is going through a period of major change. New technologies, changing business models, and the rapid development of AI are reshaping how games are created and what the future of the industry might look like. RIT Croatia welcomes videogame industry veteran Dave Kosak for a guest lecture exploring the state of the videogame industry in 2026, how it arrived at this point, and what may come next in the age of AI. Drawing on nearly three decades in the industry, including leadership roles at GameSpy and Blizzard Entertainment, Kosak will share insights from a career spanning online gaming, game design, narrative development, and creative technology. The lecture will be followed by a Q&A.
