Key Selection Criteria

Awarded at the annual commencement ceremony based on nominations that consider pedagogical innovation, and a strong commitment to student-centered learning. SRATE and observations are also considered in appraisals.

Key Selection Criteria

Honors exceptional research contributions that enhance the reputation of RIT Croatia globally or nationally. Criteria include high-impact journal publications, peer-reviewed outputs, international conference presentations, research grants, and significant scientific advancements.

Key Selection Criteria

Presented to both a faculty and a staff member who demonstrate extraordinary service, leadership, and operational efficiency. Criteria include outstanding support for students/colleagues, teamwork, active volunteering, and the innovative integration of AI tools to improve university processes and teaching.

Key Selection Criteria

Presented to a faculty or staff member for an extraordinary achievement, project, or collaboration within RIT or the community that elevates RIT Croatia's reputation. This includes exceptional initiatives in the development, application, or education of AI technologies.

Key Selection Criteria

Presented to a faculty member with exceptional professional involvement, including invited keynote talks, organizing scientific conferences, reviewing papers/projects, holding active roles in professional organizations, and leading industry or international collaborations.

Research & Faculty Scholarship

Research Overview & Support

  • Research & Scholarship Committee: A standing committee of the Academic Senate that oversees institutional research activities, hosts scholarly seminars, and establishes funding guidelines for research projects.
  • Dedicated Time & Budgeting: We provide travel funds for international conferences, and publishing support for our faculty.
  • Grants & Funding Calls: Financial backing via internal institutional grants, expanded Erasmus+ grants, and competitive national/EU funding programs.

Election to Teaching Positions

RIT Croatia upholds rigorous, transparent advancement procedures aligned with both Croatian national regulations and internal quality frameworks.

  • Legal Framework: Procedures adhere strictly to the Croatian Act on Higher Education and Scientific Activity, internal Rulebooks on Election to Educational Titles, and criteria set by the Agency for Science and Higher Education (AZVO).
  • Governance: The Academic Senate manages and reviews all candidate portfolios across departments—including Business, Web & Mobile Computing, Cybersecurity, New Media Design, and General Education—ensuring fair, merit-based career progression.

Welcome & Onboarding

New team members receive structured guidance from HR and Department Chairs, providing hands-on training for core platforms including MyCourses, Starfish, and our internal administrative workflows.

Performance Appraisals & Feedback

  • Annual Reviews: Annual evaluation is conducted for all faculty and staff members. The evaluation is performed jointly with Department Chairs / Department Managers to set actionable growth targets.
  • Holistic Evaluation: Appraisals incorporate individual self-evaluations for faculty and staff, student feedback (SRATE) and research outputs for faculty members, and overall institutional contributions.
  • Organizational Climate: Periodic anonymous workplace surveys ensure our working environment remains safe, supportive, and inclusive.
  • Anonymous Feedback Survey: Ongoing opportunity to communicate feedback as per need.
