Ready to take your first steps into the exciting world of programming? RIT Croatia invites you to a beginner-friendly, three-day workshop focused on Python, one of the world's most popular and versatile programming languages:

  1. Thursday, November 20 (15:30-17:30, Lab 35)
  2. Friday, November 21 (14:00-16:00, Lab 35)
  3. Saturday, November 22, (11:00-13:00, Lab 35)

Led by two current Web and Mobile Computing students, Danijel Kevo and Igor Mišić, and mentored by  Dr. Domagoj Tolić, Senior Lecturer at RIT Croatia, this workshop is specifically designed for high school students with little to no prior coding experience. Over three sessions (two hours each day), you'll go from zero to knowing the fundamental concepts of programming.

  • Learn the Basics: Get comfortable with the core logic and structure of coding.
  • Hands-On Fun: We'll use practical, engaging examples to make learning interactive and fun.
  • Future Skills: Discover why Python is the language of choice for everything from web development to data science and artificial intelligence.

This is your chance to gain a powerful, foundational skill in a supportive and collaborative environment, all while getting a taste of what it's like to study computing at RIT Croatia!

Dr. Jasenka Čengić, Instructor

Can you always trust what you read or watch online? In this interactive workshop, students become digital detectives as they explore how words, images, and emojis can twist meaning and shape what we believe. Together, we’ll uncover how memes, headlines, and social media posts can subtly influence opinions — and then have some fun remixing real examples to change their message completely!

By the end of the session, students will know how to spot when someone is trying to persuade, provoke, or manipulate — and how to use language responsibly when creating their own content. It’s a creative crash course in media literacy and critical thinking for the digital generation.

All workshops are held in English language.

The internet is an amazing place — until someone tries to sneak into your digital world. In this hands-on workshop, students will break down the most common online threats, from phishing messages and fake links to social engineering tricks designed to steal information. Together, we’ll examine real-world examples and learn how to spot them — before you click on that “your package is arriving” link. Through practical exercises and mini-challenges, students will learn how to build a secure online presence, protect their data, passwords, and devices, and respond confidently if something seems suspicious. The workshop makes cybersecurity clear, useful, and yes — even fun.

All workshops are held in English language.
