RIT Croatia hosts 26th annual Career Education Days in Dubrovnik and Zagreb

RIT Croatia successfully concluded its 26th traditional Career Education Days (CED), held on February 25 in Dubrovnik and March 4 in Zagreb. As a cornerstone of the institution’s commitment to experiential learning, the event served as a vital bridge between academia and the professional world, welcoming 59 leading companies from Croatia and the surrounding region.

The two-day event provided students with a comprehensive look at modern employment landscapes, offering opportunities for internships, full-time positions, and high-level professional networking.

A Dynamic program for the future labor market

With more than 20 diverse activities, the 2026 edition of CED addressed the most pressing trends in today’s economy. The program featured:

  • Company Pitch Sessions: Direct snapshots of organizational cultures and expectations.
  • Industry-Specific Panels: Insights into tourism, IT, finance, consulting, and retail.
  • Future-Ready Workshops: In Dubrovnik, sessions focused on the transformative impact of Generative AI on career paths, while Zagreb highlighted the startup ecosystem through student-led ventures like Project 01 and SupaKuna.

Participants explored critical themes such as the integration of technology in tourism, leadership resilience, and the essential "soft skills" required to navigate the first steps of a professional career.

Collaborative organization: A student-centric approach

A unique highlight of this year’s event was the integration of a student organizing committee, which worked alongside the Career Services Department to ensure the event content resonated with the needs of the current student body. This collaboration allowed the event to benefit from fresh perspectives while providing students with hands-on project management experience.

Key contributors to the event’s success included:

  • Visual & Design: Matija Mravunac (New Media Design) developed the event's visual identity, while Beata Gržan managed the design and 3D printing of the awards presented to partners.
  • Operations & Logistics: Leonela Krajač (Global Business Management) led the volunteer coordination, ensuring seamless execution across both locations.
  • Program & Content: Jan Pavlin, Tita Butić, and Mia Stjepčević contributed to panel themes and speaker selection, with a particular focus on involving RIT Croatia’s extensive alumni network.
  • Moderation: Bella Katarina Pehar led the Zagreb panel discussions, facilitating insightful dialogue between students and industry experts.

Industry and alumni connections

The presence of numerous alumni among the participating employers underscored the lasting impact of an RIT Croatia education. Aleksandra Gečević, RIT Croatia Career Service & Alumni Relations Coordinator, noted the significance of this synergy: “It was inspiring to see Career Education Day give students the chance to explore career paths, gain insights from industry professionals, and build meaningful networks. I was pleased to see alumni among the employers, sharing their journeys and showing where a degree from RIT Croatia can take you. This year, we involved students in organizing the event, giving them hands-on experience and a real voice in shaping the program. I had the privilege of leading that team, and it was inspiring to watch them grow, contribute, and embrace the opportunity. Their creativity, energy, and enthusiasm helped create a dynamic and engaging event that benefited both students and employers, and collaborating with them reminded us that learning is reciprocal; as much as we guided them, we learned alongside them. Their engagement and dedication made Career Education Day not just successful but a meaningful experience for all participants”.
