RIT Croatia Students Awarded Prestigious Scholarships from the Association of Croatian-American Professionals

RIT Croatia is proud to announce that two of its outstanding students, Luka Lasić and Kristafer Yovich, have been awarded scholarships from the Association of Croatian-American Professionals (ACAP). Each student received a scholarship in the amount of $1500 to support their participation in the Global Scholars program at the main campus of the Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) in Rochester.

ACAP, an international network of over 2,000 professionals spanning various industries and academic communities, is a non-profit organization dedicated to fostering knowledge-sharing, networking, and promoting Croatian and Croatian-American professionals. The organization also aims to enhance trade between the two communities.

The selection committee, comprised of representatives from Career Services, Alumni Relations, Study Abroad & International Students Department, and ACAP, chose the recipients based on their confirmation of acceptance to the Global Scholars program from RIT Global and the highest number of points received according to the evaluation criteria.

Luka Lasić, one of the scholarship recipients, expressed his gratitude for the award, saying, "Receiving this scholarship proves to me that I have the ability and dedication to school to achieve the best I can. I also understand that the work I have put in has been worth it with this more substantial achievement. The scholarship also shows that I am a valued member of the Croatian community.

He continued, "It allows me to focus more on my academics and social life instead of having to pick up an extra job while in Rochester. It will allow me to better connect with the community by attending more events and getting more people interested in Croatia. It will also allow me to connect with Croatian Americans who are in the US and foster Croatia's international community."

Both Luka Lasić and Kristafer Yovich are exemplary students, and their dedication to academic excellence and community involvement aligns with the mission of ACAP in promoting and supporting Croatian professionals globally.

RIT Croatia extends its congratulations to Luka and Kristafer for this remarkable achievement and expresses gratitude to ACAP for its commitment to empowering the next generation of Croatian-American professionals. The scholarships awarded will undoubtedly contribute to the academic success and cultural exchange experiences of these deserving students at RIT's main campus in Rochester.
