Across campus, there are a mix of vending areas and micro markets. They may offer similar items, but the experience in each space is different.

Vending Area

A vending area features traditional vending machines where items are selected and paid for directly at the machine before retrieval. It’s quick, familiar, and designed for grab-and-go convenience.

Micro Market

A micro market is a small, self-service retail space. Instead of machines, items are displayed on open shelves and coolers, offering more variety and an easier browsing. Products are selected first and paid for at a self-service kiosk before leaving the space.

Micro Market with Smart Technology

The micro market in Gannett now includes added technology:

  • Smart coolers with built-in payment technology for grab-and-go beverages

  • Traditional vending machines that continue to offer food and snack options
