For over 15 years, the Rochester City Scholars program has helped Rochester students turn college aspirations into successful careers, with alumni becoming doctors, designers, executives, sonographers, artists, teachers, and more.

RIT once again made The Princeton Review Best Colleges list and was ranked among the top 50 schools for “Colleges that Create Futures” in its Best 392 Colleges 2027 edition.

Eight new faculty members join the Kate Gleason College of Engineering this fall, bringing multidisciplinary research interests and teaching expertise.

When Josh Harkless came to RIT, he envisioned becoming a wrestling national champion and building a career as an aerospace engineer. He will graduate in May having accomplished both.

RIT’s Formula SAE, Baja SAE, and Hot Wheelz Solar Racing teams give students hands-on, industry-relevant experience. Students design, build, and race advanced vehicles, helping them develop technical and teamwork skills that translate directly into co-ops and careers.

Club sports are a big part of student life at the university. Every year, about 2,000 students are involved with the nearly 50 different club sports. For many, it scratches that competitive itch. For others, it’s a chance to try something new, find a community, and stay active.

Michael and Suzanne Pail met as engineering undergraduates during a first-year chemistry class. Since then, the two have kept a personal chemistry as engineers, business owners, and now shipmates sailing the ocean on Mira, their double-hull catamaran.

A multidisciplinary team of students and faculty continued an RIT tradition of participating in Canstruction Rochester by making EVE from WALL-E out of more than 2,400 canned goods.

Whether coordinating the logistics of challenging SAE Baja Racing events in Rochester or helping organize overnight programs with current and prospective engineering students, Marca Lam has taken a non-traditional approach to educating engineers.
