Why did you choose engineering?
"I chose RIT because of its amazing co-op program that allows students to gain real world experience as part of the curriculum."
After graduation, what are your career goals?
"After I graduate, I am looking to gain more knowledge in the world of manufacturing. Eventually, I would like to learn both the technical aspect and the business side to one day become a plant manager."
As we celebrate Black History Month, what stands out to you? Why is it important?
"Black History Month is important to me because it is the culture I live every day. Underrepresentation in STEM has been a common trend for ages, and having the moment to highlight Black leaders, engineers, and scientists gives insight to younger generations to look forward to closing that gap."
Why is it important to have organizations like ECCO on college campuses? Can you share some examples of activities that take place?
"ECCO is so essential to a college campus, especially this one, because it provides a safe space for students of similar background and culture. This helps build the community for the students who seek advice, a helping hand, or who simply want to find friends who they can relate to. Every year ECCO hosts study sessions for students of color so that we can not only have a space to focus, but get help from one another."
