Shay Olmstead

Bio
Shay Ryan Olmstead (they/them) is a lecturer in Women's, Gender, and Sexuality Studies. They teach core courses for the WGSS Major, including the WGSS Learning Seminar and Advanced Projects Course, and also design and teach classes for the Queer and Transgender Studies minor and immersion. Shay received their Ph.D. in History with distinction from the University of Massachusetts Amherst in 2024. Their award-winning dissertation research examines employment discrimination claims brought by trans(sexual) workers between 1969 and 1995.
