Concert features four pianists at two pianos

Rebecca Penneys from the Eastman School of Music featured in piano extravaganza

“Piano Extravaganza, What Pianos and Pianists Do For Fun!” is scheduled at 8 p.m. March 6 in Rochester Institute of Technology’s Ingle Auditorium as part of RIT’s Performing Artists Concert Series.

“It’s a rare opportunity to hear four fine classical pianists enjoying themselves on two pianos playing numerous and melodic short classical pieces,” said David Perlman, an electrical engineering professor who founded RIT’s Performing Artists Concert Series in 1995. “It’s fun to watch — they keep changing places — and fun to listen to and the audience will be amazed at their incredible virtuosity.”

Eastman School of Music faculty member Rebecca Penneys created the program, which features her, Eunmi Ko, Omri Shimron and Johnandrew Slominski.

Tickets are $20, $15 for faculty/staff/alumni, $5 for students and are available at the University Arenas Box Office by calling 585-475-4121, online at the RIT University Arenas ticket website or at the door prior to the concert.
