Co-op & Internship Spotlight: First-hand Experience in Government and Policy
Through her internship at the U.S. House of Representatives, Kaitlin Sommer experienced the inner workings of national government up close. Working alongside Representative Joe Morelle’s team, she strengthened her research and policy skills while developing a meaningful proposal on accessibility for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing community.

"I was able to learn so much about the hands-on work of government! During my internship, I did research and completed tasks for Representative Morelle's staff," said Sommer. "His staff was extremely kind and welcoming, I learned so much from them. I was able to present a policy proposal to the Congressman focusing on accessibility for Deaf and Hard of Hearing people. This was definitely the highlight of my experience!"
