Exploring photography’s role in social change

“Whose Streets? Our Streets!” features the work of 37 independent photographers who documented protests, demonstrations and conflicts on the streets of New York City from 1980 to 2000. The project, led by RIT faculty and alumni, features a book, short film, interactive website and exhibitions.

RIT’s Cary Graphic Arts Collection opened a new exhibition to celebrate the 100th birthdays of renowned German type designers and calligraphers Hermann Zapf and Gudrun Zapf von Hesse. “Zapf Centenary” is on display now through Oct. 31.

RIT Press is reintroducing a rare essay by famed English writer Aldous Huxley that argues the significance and power of words. The limited edition facsimile of Huxley’s 1940 title Words and Their Meanings is now available through RIT Press.
