Streaming Videos
RIT Libraries provides access to thousands of streaming videos through several major providers
- Fall 2024 media requests are due by Friday September 6, 2024 5:00pm EDT. RIT Libraries cannot guarantee purchases after this date.
Please check for desired titles in the subscription sources below or contact your librarian for assistance. Media requests for titles not currently included in our collections can be submitted via the Media Request form.

All streaming videos in RIT Libraries’ media collection are purchased or licensed content- limited to current authorized RIT students, faculty, and staff. Streaming media licenses are purchased by semester. Access to individual titles must be requested each semester.
All streamed videos licensed by RIT Libraries can be used in MyCourses syllabi, documents, and other webpages.

DVDs
RIT Libraries also provides faculty, student and staff access to DVDs for classroom and personal use. You can search the catalog to locate a title. Please contact circwml@rit.edu if there are questions about DVD availability, checkout and loan periods.
Requests
Effective January 2022:
If the title is readily available as a pay-per-view or on demand title, RIT Libraries will provide you with a link to those options. RIT Libraries will no longer purchase a streaming vendor version if the title is readily available for viewing. However, when warranted, the Library will purchase a legal streaming copy if available.
RIT Faculty: Please use these forms for your media requests.
Your college librarian will contact you with an update within 2-3 business days of your request. Please be advised that the processing time to activate a title may exceed 5-10 business days.
