OPT Reporting


IMPORTANT UPDATE:
On March 23, 2018, the Student Exchange Visitor Program (SEVP) will launch the SEVP Portal for students on OPT. It will provide students the opportunity to view and update certain information found in their SEVIS records, including their address, telephone number, and OPT employment information. On March 23, 2018 or Day 1 of your Approved OPT (whichever is later), you will receive an email from Do-Not-Reply.SEVP@ice.dhs.gov with instructions on how to create an account.

After March 23, 2018 you will have the option of reporting your OPT information through the SEVP portal or through the links on this page.



As a student on initial or extended OPT, you are required by US immigration regulations to report the following events to RIT within ten days:

  1. A legal name change
  2. A change in your residential or mailing address
  3. A change in your employer or loss of employment

Please use the links below to report this information to our office.  The data will come directly to RIT International Student Services and passed on to USCIS.
