Howdy!! My name is Rose and I’m a second-year Biomedical Sciences major. This past summer, I studied abroad in Sorrento, Italy, where I completed some general education requirements with two really fun classes—Volcanology and Italian Food & Culture. While in Italy, I hiked Mt. Vesuvius, visited amazing places like Vatican City and Capri, and enjoyed the bluest water I’ve ever seen (along with some of the best pasta in the world). Before going, I worried about the study abroad process being confusing, expensive, or too difficult to balance with my sports schedule, but it turned out to be a life-changing experience that was much easier than I expected. Studying abroad pushed me out of my comfort zone and gave me memories and friendships I’ll never forget.
