All majors at RIT can study abroad, and it's an ideal opportunity for you to gain a new perspective on your major, understand the global reach of your field of study, and develop cross-cultural skills that will prepare you for your career.
Planning early, discussing your plans with your academic advisor, and working with a study abroad advisor to find a good program fit will set you on the path to having a memorable experience while staying on track to graduation.
Tips
- You’ll find strong health sciences coursework in Europe and Australia – however, you are not limited to these locations!
- Ideally, CHST majors should plan early for study abroad (after your first or second year at RIT) which gives you the most flexibility in finding health sciences coursework abroad. But remember that if you’re late to the game, you may still have options, and a study abroad advisor can help you find a program that may work for you.
- Saving a few of your general education credits, free electives, perspectives, or professional electives to take abroad will offer you more variety of programs and locations to choose from.
- A shorter summer program may be a good option to fit in an international experience for Health Sciences majors. You can find summer coursework abroad in public health, comparative health systems, or community health. Or consider taking courses towards your immersion abroad over the summer.
