Join Roots & Routes: Croatia's Farm-to-Table Evolution, an interdisciplinary study abroad program designed for students from all majors, offering a deep dive into the future of sustainable agriculture and the global food industry. Whether you’re studying business, technology, environmental science, marketing, or tourism, this program provides a hands-on learning experience that spans multiple fields. Explore Croatia's vibrant farm-to-table ecosystem through lectures on AI-driven smart farming, workshops on supply chain logistics and retail, and visits to organic farms, wineries, and eco-certified food producers. Along the way, you’ll discover how agriculture, ecology, tourism, and the green economy are interconnected, while learning directly from experts and local business leaders. With its unique blend of technology, tradition, and sustainability, Roots & Routes is perfect for anyone looking to explore the diverse opportunities in the farm-to-table movement and its impact on global industries.

Program excursions may include:
- Lecture on agriculture and AI, and tourism from two RIT Croatia faculty members.
- Visit to a farm and nature preserve that focuses on sustainability and organic foods.
- Visit to the distribution center for a major Croatian grocery store.
- Visit the winery of an RIT Croatia student’s family.
- Visit an oil mill of an RIT Croatia student’s family,
- Visit the Arena in Pula.
- Have a lecture about Eco Certificates.
- Cooking session to prepare a traditional Croatian meal.
Students won't pay tuition since this program does not count for academic credit. Instead, participants will pay a program fee that covers housing, travel and medical insurance, transportation between activities, and group meals.
The program is open to both graduate and undergraduate students from all majors and all year levels.
