One of the world’s largest sources of funding for graduate women, AAUW is providing more than $3.7 million in funding for more than 241 fellowships and grants to outstanding women and nonprofit organizations. Abbey Awards and Fellowships in Painting
Abbey Awards offer all expenses paid residencies at the British School at Rome for artists showing exceptional merit and promise. The Abbey Scholarship offers one annual nine month residency for an early career artist at The British School at Rome, with a monthly stipend of £1,000. Abbey Fellowships offer three annual three month residencies for mid-career artists at The British School at Rome, each with monthly stipends of £1,500.

AFLSE Scholarship (The Alumni and Friends of the London School of Economics in the United States)
The Alumni and Friends of the London School of Economics in the United States (AFLSE) awards at least one scholarship each year to an American citizen or permanent resident of the United States for one year of graduate study at the London School of Economics. The scholarship covers tuition costs up to the minimum overseas graduate program fees (currently £11,442). Selection of scholarship recipients is based on academic merit and financial need, with no restrictions as to age, field of study, or degree being sought. To be considered for the scholarship, prospective students must first apply for admission to the LSE. The LSE will identify candidates who are eligible to apply for the AFLSE scholarship through the Graduate Merit Awards selection process. U.S. citizens and permanent residents who receive Graduate Merit Awards may apply for the AFLSE scholarship by checking the relevant box on the Graduate Support Scheme application.

Alexander von Humboldt Foundation German Chancellor Fellowship

The fellowship programme is under the patronage of the Federal Chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany. Up to 60 German Chancellor Fellowships are awarded each year – up to ten per country. Amelia Earhart Fellowships (Zonta International Foundation)
The Amelia Earhart Fellowship program helps talented women, pursuing advanced studies in the typically male-dominated fields of aerospace-related sciences and aerospace-related engineering, achieve their educational goals. The Fellowship enables these women to invest in state-of-the-art computers to conduct their research, purchase expensive books and resource materials, and participate in specialized studies around the globe.

American Architectural Foundation and Sir John Soane's Museum Foundation Traveling Fellowship
The purpose of the Sir John Soane's Museum Foundation Traveling Fellowship is to enable students in graduate degree programs in the history of art, architecture, interior design, and the decorative arts to travel to London to pursue research projects related to any aspect of the work of Sir John Soane or Sir John Soane's Museum and its collections. Annually, the Foundation entertains and reviews proposals from qualified candidates from universities and institutions around the world.

American Music Abroad Program
The American Music Abroad (AMA), a program that the Association of American Voices is proud to administer on behalf of the United States Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs. The American Music Abroad program is designed to communicate America’s rich musical contributions to the global music scene as it fosters cross-cultural communication and people-to-people connection to global audiences. All musical genres are welcome to apply. This includes but is not limited to: Blues, Bluegrass, Cajun, Country, Folk, Latin, Native American, Gospel, Hip Hop/Urban, Indie Rock, Jazz, Punk, R&B, and Zydeco. In cooperation with the U.S. Department of State, American Voices arranges a series of in-person and virtual exchange programs that include concerts, live-streamed concerts, collaborative performances with local traditional musicians, lecture demonstrations, workshops, and jam sessions. The programs focus on younger and underserved audiences, with little or no access to American music, in over 140 countries around the world.

Eligibility:
Applying ensembles must be either trios, quartets or quintets (3-5 people). Only open to U.S. citizens age 18 and over. Knowledge of and experience in music business necessary.

Award Amount: $300 per tour day, per musician, including rest days. Average compensation from the program can range from $4,500 to $7,500. If selected, all tour flights, hotels, and transportation and fully covered.

American Research Institute in Turkey (ARIT) American Research Fellowships
ARIT supports and administers programs of fellowships for scholarly research and for language study in Turkey. Programs for scholars and graduate students based in the U.S. and Canada include the ARIT, the ARIT National Endowment for the Humanities Fellowship programs, and the ARIT Summer Language Program at Boğazici University in Istanbul. ARIT Fellows come from all regions of North America and represent many fields of the humanities and social sciences. ARIT fellowships support individual research projects in ancient, historical, and modern times in all fields of the humanities and social sciences, that must be carried out in Turkey.

Amgen Scholars Program
An 8 to 10-week summer research internship program for undergraduate students in science and biotechnology. Amgen Scholars Program is for undergraduates studying science or engineering to participate in a research project in Japan (Kyoto University or University of Tokyo), China (Tsinghua University), or Singapore (National University of Singapore). Amy Lowell Poetry Traveling Scholarship
he American poet Amy Lowell died in 1925. Her will established an annual scholarship to support travel abroad for gifted American-born poets. Any poet of American birth who is able and willing to spend one year outside the continent of North America may apply. There is no age requirement, and there is no requirement that applicants be enrolled in a university or other education program. While many recent winners have been published poets, there is no requirement that applicants have previously published their work.

Asia Development Bank (ADB) Young Professional Program
Young Professional (YPs) are offered a 3-year fixed-term appointment in Asian Development Bank (ADB) headquarters. YPs will be initially joining one of ADB’s operational departments and then assigned to another department/office as a rotational assignment for 12 months. During this period, YPs are expected to demonstrate competencies required for the positions. The work assignments enable them to further develop their expertise and broaden their perspective through exposure to various aspects of ADB work. Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship Program
The Gilman Scholarship Program broadens the student population that studies and interns abroad by supporting undergraduates who might not otherwise participate due to financial constraints. The program aims to encourage students to study and intern in a diverse array of countries or areas and world regions. The program also encourages students to study languages, especially critical need languages (those deemed important to national security). Veterans of military service are encouraged to apply, and preference is given to veterans when other factors are equivalent. By supporting undergraduate students who have high financial need, the program has been successful in supporting students who have been historically underrepresented in education abroad, including but not limited to first-generation college students, ethnic minority students, students with disabilities, students attending HBCUs (Historically Black Colleges and Universities) or other minority-serving institutions, students attending community colleges, and students coming from U.S. states with less study abroad participation. Bicentennial Swedish-American Exchange Fund
The Bicentennial Swedish-American Exchange fund is open to applicants from the United States to provide the opportunity for those in a position to influence public opinion and contribute to the development of their society to make a two- to four-week study trip to Sweden. Blakemore Freeman Fellowships
The Blakemore Foundation was founded in 1990 by Tom and Frances Blakemore for the purpose of providing fellowships for the advanced study of Asian languages and grants to facilitate the introduction of Asian art to communities in the United States. Boren Awards
Boren Scholarships, an initiative of the National Security Education Program, provide unique funding opportunities for U.S. undergraduate students to study less commonly taught languages in world regions critical to U.S. interests, and underrepresented in study abroad, including Africa, Asia, Central and Eastern Europe, Eurasia, Latin America, and the Middle East. The countries of Western Europe, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand are excluded. Before applying for a Boren Award scholarship, students should already have a study abroad program in mind that meets the requirements for the award. Boren Awards - STEM Summer
For STEM majors interested in learning a language that is highly sought-after in the U.S. federal workforce. The Boren STEM summer program gives Science, Engineering, Computing and other STEM students the culture and language skills to have a positive impact on important global issues like cybersecurity, infrastructure development, poverty alleviation, health, etc. Before applying for the Boren STEM Summer scholarship, students should already have a study abroad program in mind that meets the requirements for the award. Bridging Scholarships for Study in Japan
The Bridging Project offers scholarships to American undergraduate students participating in study-abroad programs in Japan. The United States-Japan Bridging Foundation funds scholarships through AATJ to help students study abroad in Japan for a semester or an academic year.

The Carnegie African Diaspora Fellowship Program (CADFP) is a scholar fellowship program for educational projects at African higher education institutions, specifically designed to host African-born scholars.

CBYX (Congress-Bundestag Youth Exchange) for Young Professional
The Congress-Bundestag Youth Exchange for Young Professional (CBYX) is a fellowship funded by the German Bundestag and U.S. Congress, that annually provides 75 American and 75 German Young Professional the opportunity to spend one year in each others' countries, studying, interning, and living with hosts on a cultural immersion program. A year-long fellowship program that includes German language instruction, semester study in Germany, and semester-long internship. The program consists of three phases: • Two months of intensive German language training in Germany (Aug-Sept) • One semester of classes in your academic or career field at a university, technical or professional school in Germany* (Oct-Feb) • Three-month internship in Germany in your career field** (March-June) Open to candidates in all career fields. CFHI Child Family Health International scholarships for Global Health Education Programs
Child Family Health International (CFHI) is a United Nations-recognized organization providing 4+ week Global Health rotations, internships, and professional development programs for undergraduate, graduate, professional and post-graduate students. Choose from over 25 programs in 7 countries (Argentina, Bolivia, Ecuador, India, Mexico, South Africa, Uganda) that focus on a variety of important global health topics including tropical medicine, HIV/AIDS, end-of-life care, maternal/child health, food security, and more. CFHI programs place you in the trenches of global health alongside health care workers, patients, and community leaders. Charles B. Rangel International Affairs Graduate Fellowship Program
The Rangel Graduate Fellowship is a program that aims to attract and prepare outstanding young people for careers in the Foreign Service of the U.S. Department of State in which they can help formulate, represent, and implement U.S. foreign policy. The Rangel Program selects outstanding Rangel Fellows annually in a highly competitive nationwide process and supports them through two years of graduate study, internships, mentoring, and professional development activities. This program encourages the application of members of minority groups historically underrepresented in the Foreign Service, women, and those with financial need. Fellows who successfully complete the program and Foreign Service entry requirements will receive appointments as Foreign Service Officers, in accordance with applicable law and State Department policy. Rangel Fellows are committed to serving their country and promoting positive change globally. Individuals who have successfully completed the Rangel Program are now making a difference in countries throughout the world, including Colombia, Mexico, Panama, Venezuela, South Africa, Nigeria, Angola, China, Korea, Bangladesh, Spain, and Ireland.

Christianson Grant
Funds for impact-oriented internships or volunteer projects abroad. The Christianson Grant is awarded to individuals who have arranged their own overseas service programs. Proposed programs must be at least six months in length and emphasize a service and community component. The grant does not support independent research projects or academic study abroad programs.

CIEE Frederick Douglass Global Fellowship
CIEE Frederick Douglass Global Fellows will explore conflict and injustice from various perspectives and the leaders who sought to affect positive change for their communities and their countries. Fellows will return to America with new perspectives on how effective leaders influence positive social change and inspired to be the catalyst for positive change in their communities and in our world. CIEE Study Abroad Scholarships
CIEE is an RIT affiliate study abroad partner and offers more than $13 million in scholarships and grants annually to help high school or college students make their dreams of studying abroad a reality. CIEE offers need-based scholarships, merit scholarships, and scholarships by location. Students apply for CIEE scholarships through the CIEE application portal.

Must be applying for a CIEE study abroad program; Some CIEE scholarships have academic or location parameters.

Constellation - Statler
Provides support to RIT students in their desire to study at RIT Croatia. Recipients must be in good academic standing, able to demonstrate financial need, interested in studying at RIT Croatia and matriculated at RIT's Henrietta campus. Students who are applying for RIT Croatia study abroad programs will automatically be considered for this scholarship when applying for a program in the RIT Study Abroad Compass. No additional application is required and students will be informed of scholarship decisions shortly after program application deadlines. Email global@rit.edu with questions about the scholarship.

Corinne Jeannine Schillings Foundation
Supports college women in learning about other cultures through the study of languages and study abroad. Provides financial assistance to young women who have received the Girl Scout Silver or Gold award.

Council of American Overseas Research Centers Multi Country Fellowship Program
The Multi-Country Research Fellowship enables US scholars to carry out trans-regional and comparative research in countries across the network of Overseas Research Centers as well as other countries. The fellowship supports advanced research in the humanities, social sciences, and allied natural sciences for US doctoral candidates, who are all but dissertation, and scholars who have earned their PhD. Applicants are eligible to apply as individuals or as teams. Scholars must carry out research in two or more countries outside the US, at least one of which must host a participating Overseas Research Center.

Critical Language Scholarship Program
The Critical Language Scholarship (CLS) provides an intensive language study program for US students, funded by the US Department of State. Receive intensive language instruction and structured cultural enrichment experiences designed to promote rapid language gains. Awardees study one of 15 critical languages for approximately 8-10 weeks over the summer. Most languages do not require previous experience • No previous experience: Azerbaijani, Bangla, Hindi, Indonesian, Persian, Punjabi, Russian, Swahili, Turkish, Urdu • 1 year experience: Arabic, Korean, Portuguese, Russian • 2 years’ experience: Chinese, Japanese If you have an interest in future U.S. government work or international relations, the CLS scholarship is the most prestigious language program for U.S. citizens and would be an exceptional addition to your resume. Cultural Vistas
The Cultural Vistas Fellowship affords underrepresented U.S. university students the unique opportunity to advance their career goals, develop global competencies, and experience life in another culture. Cultural Vistas will select up to 12 fellows to take part in this multinational professional development program that includes eight-week summer internships in various countries around the world.

DAAD RISE Germany - Professional Research
RISE stands for Research Internships in Science and Engineering. RISE Professional offers summer research internships in Germany to Master’s and Ph.D. students from USA, Canada, Great Britain or Ireland at companies and non-university research institutions with strong relations to industry. Undergraduates who are RISE Germany alumni are also eligible. Depending on the internship recent graduates are also eligible. RISE Professional is funded by the German Federal Foreign Office. The program is open for students in the field of biology, chemistry, computer science, physics, earth science, engineering or a closely related field. All participants receive a scholarship from DAAD and an additional stipend from their host company/institution to help cover living expenses. Funding is possible for a period up to six months depending on the internship in summer or fall German language requirements vary according to the internship placement. DAAD RISE Germany - Undergraduate Research
A 3-month STEM summer research internship program in Germany. Undergraduate students are matched with doctoral students and researchers to assist with their research projects. RISE stands for Research Internships in Science and Engineering. RISE Germany offers undergraduate students from North American, British and Irish universities the opportunity to complete a summer research internship at top German universities and research institutions. RISE Germany is funded by the German Federal Foreign Office. Students are matched with a host university or institute according to their area of interest (biology, chemistry, physics, earth sciences, engineering, or a closely related field). DAAD provides students a monthly stipend for three months to help cover living expenses. Host universities, universities of applied sciences (UAS) and institutes provide housing assistance and match students with Ph.D. student mentors or researchers (only UAS). German language is not required and the working language will be in English. May be able to be used to fulfill an RIT summer co-op! Diversity Abroad Overseas Ambassador
The Overseas Ambassador Program provides a $500 stipend for students or recent graduates who are planning to study, intern, volunteer or teach abroad.
