graphic media day event on RIT campus for prospective students

Graphic media surrounds us every day, a powerful tool wielded by companies, from massive billboards to the compact screens of our phones. Yet, many people don't grasp the breadth and scope of the industry.

Today, the graphic media industry represents a staggering $640 billion manufacturing sector, brimming with exciting opportunities for the next generation of leaders in technical services, production, and management roles. To educate young people about this dynamic field, the Rochester Institute of Technology and the Print and Graphic Communications Association are hosting Graphic Media Day, a one-day event packed with engaging presentations, live demonstrations, and the chance to connect with industry leaders. This event is open to the public, especially high school students who want to know more about careers in a dynamic industry.

Join us on Thursday, May 23, as we kick off the day with sessions beginning at 10 AM. During these sessions, guests will delve into crucial aspects of the graphic media industry. Local companies will deliver presentations, shedding light on critical segments like packaging and marketing communications. Attendees will also witness live demonstrations of textile, label, and box printing, gaining firsthand appreciation for the technologies and expertise required to produce graphic media on an industrial scale. The sessions will conclude at 1:30 PM. For career-minded individuals with an interest in graphics and those who take satisfaction in completing interesting projects on a commercial scale, this industry offers tremendous opportunities.

Lunch will be provided, but registration is required by May 16. We designed this event with teachers in mind. Submit our simple registration form to register your class and we'll reach out as soon as we can with additional information! Don’t miss out on this exciting opportunity to explore the world of graphic media!
