Sandeep Das and the HUM Ensemble: Delhi to Kabul

The ancient cities of Delhi (India) and Kabul (Afghanistan) have long been a crossroads of culture and tradition, cultivating a brotherhood for thousands of years, oftentimes as part of the same empire. Delhi to Kabul is a celebration of that historical bond and a response to recent events– a kaleidoscopic journey of music, dance, and storytelling that unveils the traditional music of both countries and then journeys beyond them in a new cross-genre collaboration.

Conceptualized and curated by Grammy-winning Tabla maestro Sandeep Das, Delhi to Kabul is the fourth initiative under the canopy of Transcending Borders One Note at a Time, a project series that aims to harness the transformative power of music and inspire positive social change through a variety of mediums including performances, residencies, community engagement activities, and talks/presentations.

This event is free and open to the RIT campus and the Rochester community.
