Sorority Hosts 14th Annual “Crimson and Creme Benefit Ball,” Feb. 11

The 14th annual Crimson and Crème Ball is about having fun and raising funds.

The event, presented by the Pi Beta chapter of the Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, begins at 8 p. m. Saturday, Feb. 11 at the Rochester Club Ball Room, 120 East Ave. in Rochester. The ball is the primary fundraiser for the Denise Y. Giles Memorial Scholarship, a scholarship honoring a former sister who worked tirelessly for the disabled. The scholarship is awarded annually to an undergraduate student at the Rochester Institute of Technology, University of Rochester, or SUNY Brockport who is dedicated to serving his or her respective community.

“We hope to continue instilling in the winners Ms. Giles passion for scholarship and service,” says Erica Holder, co-chair for this year’s ball.

The event is open to the public and will feature a live jazz band, step show, HBO Def Poetry Jam artist, DJ and oratorical contest. Tickets cost $24 per individual or $42 per couple. For more information, contact RIT student Erica Holder at 585-424-7977.
