PHOTO OPPORTUNITY: RIT Students Help the Hungry, May 3

In an effort to fight hunger in Rochester, students representing various faith communities at Rochester Institute of Technology will be making and delivering more than 2,000 sandwiches to local food kitchens and community centers, May 3.

Students will prepare peanut butter and jelly sandwiches for 10 local community service organizations and food kitchens. Food donations for the fifth annual PB Jam will be provided by Genesee Valley Foodlink and Wegmans. The students will create a “sandwich assembly line” from 11 a.m.¬ to 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, May 3 in the lobby of the Student Alumni Union.

Originally a program sponsored by Hillel Jewish student organization, all members of the Interfaith Center are joining in PB Jam. In addition, special interest groups, fraternities, sororities and other clubs will take turns making and delivering sandwiches.
