RIT’s School of Hospitality and Service Management to Host Spring Events

Rochester Institute of Technology’s School of Hospitality and Service Management has slated the following spring events:

  • Henry’s, RIT’s student-managed restaurant named after Bausch & Lomb Inc. founding partner Henry Lomb, opens for spring quarter on March 29. Located on the fourth floor of RIT’s George Eastman Building, the eatery serves lunch 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays through May 5. Reservations and credit cards are accepted and take-out service is available. For more information, call 475-2351 or visit http://www.rit.edu/~henrys.
  • The annual Puttin’ on the RITz dinner-dance, organized by RIT School of Hospitality and Service Management majors, is slated for April 2 at the Rochester Riverside Convention Center, 123 East Main St. This year marks the 20th anniversary of the black-tie gala and features a “Glitz at the RITz” theme, a four-course meal and live music by Me & The Boyz.

RIT alumna Carin DeMilo, owner of CDM Event Productions, is honorary chairperson for the event. DeMilo worked in food and beverage service for the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta, the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney, Australia, and the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City.

The dinner-dance, beginning at 6:30 p.m., benefits RIT’s hospitality education fund for student awards, educational travel, equipment and scholarships. For more information, contact Diane Sommers at 475-2608 or ritzdinner05@hotmail.com, or visit http://www.rit.edu/~ritzwww.
