Fun for Everyone at the RIT Model Railroad Club Fall Train Show

Rochester Institute of Technology’s Model Railroad Club (RITMRC) will host its annual Fall Train Show on Sunday, Oct. 19. Vendors, operating layouts, hands-on layouts for kids and railroad literature will on display. The club’s operating digital HO scale layout—Rochester & Irondequoit Terminal Railroad—a representation of Rochester and the surrounding areas, will be open during the show. Club members will be on hand to run trains and to answer questions about railroading. RIT’s tiger mascot, “RITchie,” will make a special guest appearance.

The show, held in the Student Alumni Union, runs from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Ticket prices are $3 for general admission and $2 for students and senior citizens, with no charge for children under 12.

RIT students founded the model railroad club in 1996 to promote the hobby of model railroading and to preserve Rochester’s rich railroad heritage. The club, located downstairs in the Student Alumni Union, Room A-420, meets Tuesday nights at 7 p.m.
