Reality Television Star to Help Commemorate the National Day of Silence at RIT

Wes Culwell to speak April 17 in RIT’s Student Alumni Union Cafeteria

Wes Culwell, best known for participating in the Bravo television network’s Boy Meets Boy dating series, will speak at Rochester Institute of Technology April 17 in advance of April 18’s National Day of Silence.

Culwell will speak at 8 p.m. in the Student Alumni Union Alfred Davis Room. Admission is $3 and tickets will be sold at the door.

The Day of Silence is an annual event that brings attention to anti-lesbian, gay, bi-sexual and transgender bullying, harassment and discrimination in schools. According to the event’s Web site, www.dayofsilence.org, students and teachers across the country will spend the day in silence in an effort to symbolize the silence that lesbian, gay, bi-sexual and transgender students face everyday. Organizers say that the national event, in its eleventh year, is one of the largest student-led actions in the country.
