Utica Area Manufacturer Receives State Pollution Prevention Award
Sumax Cycle Products honored with P2 Achievement Award

The New York State Pollution Prevention Institute, housed at Rochester Institute of Technology, will give its first P2 Achievement Award to Sumax Cycle Products. The company will be honored for its efforts to improve energy efficiency and reduce hazardous materials in its production processes and for its pollution prevention partnership with the Mohawk Valley Applied Technology Corporation.
Sumax will receive the award during a ceremony Wednesday, Oct. 14, at its headquarters in Oriskany, N.Y., which will include Assemblywoman RoAnn Destito (D/WF-Rome), and representatives from the Pollution Prevention Institute, Mohawk Valley Applied Technology and the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation.
