RIT and Rochester General Health System to present progress report about alliance

RIT will host a special information session for students, faculty and staff to discuss achievements and future initiatives as a result of the strategic alliance between RIT and Rochester General Health System.

The presentation will be held 9 to 10:30 a.m. April 30 in Carlson Auditorium. Jeremy Haefner, RIT provost and senior vice president for academic affairs, and other members of the alliance team, will discuss endeavors in the areas of education, research and shared services. Following the presentations, there will be an opportunity for questions and answers.

Under the umbrella of a strategic alliance formed in 2008, RIT is Rochester General Health System’s official academic affiliate and RGHS is the university’s official affiliated medical center. As technology continues to transform biomedical science, academic areas like computing and information sciences and digital imaging offer increasing relevance to future advancements in medicine. RIT and RGHS are collaborating on education and research programs in these and other key areas—a collaboration that includes mutual access to each institution’s expertise and facilities.
