Author:Tom Moran, associate professor, College of Applied Science and Technology

Moran’s book showcases engineers as artists and “language technicians.” The book is a collection of literary works by award-winning engineers and advice from the same authors on how to compose well-written materials for the workplace. It is a treatise meant to dispel the myth that engineers cannot write or do so only with the technical jargon of the discipline. According to the publisher, the engineers included in the book “explore the differences and similarities found within writing and engineering and offer some thoughts on how engineers can conceptualize their writing to improve their reports, articles, proposals and other documents.”
