Talk Examines the Impact of the Internet on the Communications Industry

Arnold Klinsky presents ‘What’s New About New Media?’ Feb. 9

Arnold Klinsky, vice president and general manager of WHEC-TV (channel 10), Rochester’s NBC affiliate, will present “What’s New About New Media” at 2 p.m. Feb 9.

Arnold Klinsky, vice president and general manager of Rochester’s NBC television affiliate, WHEC-TV, will discuss the impact the Internet has had on television journalism and the communications industry as a whole during the presentation “What’s New About New Media.”

The talk, part of Rochester Institute of Technology’s Communication Colloquium series, will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Bamboo Room in the Campus Center. Klinsky will discuss the new demands of the modern media consumer, the changing economics of the media industry, and the impact these factors have had on content generators in all facets of communication.

Klinsky has been general manager of WHEC for 27 years and also has served as chair of the New York State Broadcasters Association. Prior to coming to Rochester, he served as news director and vice president of operations for WVIT-TV in Hartford, Conn.

The talk is sponsored by RIT’s Department of Communication and is free and open to the public.
