The E. Philip Saunders College of Business at Rochester Institute of Technology ranked fourth in the “Top 10 Most Social Media Friendly Online MBA Schools,” according to a study conducted by OnlineMBAPage.com.

The Saunders College was recognized for its scores in “likes, followers, subscribers and members” on such media sites as Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Linkedin, Google Plus and Flickr.

“Although our online EMBA students may find greater utility than others in social media options—nearly two-thirds of our Executive MBA students and alumni are active members of our Facebook and LinkedIn groups,” says Marty Lawlor, director of the Online EMBA Program at the Saunders College.

“Our social media initiative is the result of a concerted college-wide effort to offer all Saunders stakeholders—students, faculty, staff and alumni—the opportunity to engage with each other to create productive and enduring relationships.”

The OnlineMBAPage.com survey compiled data from the social media accounts of 42 schools that offer online MBA programs. According to their website, social media is a great way for schools to connect with current and prospective students: “If schools want to attract Internet-savvy students, they need to be where their students are on social media sites and need to share frequently and interact with their followers to build a true community of fans.”
