Parking lot closures for move-in day

A. Sue Weisler

New students will move into campus on Aug. 16.

To ensure that first-year move-in proceeds smoothly and to minimize the disruption to employee arrival on Tuesday, please take note of the following:

General Information

  • Traffic will be extremely heavy on campus, and patterns will be modified.
  • Arrive early. Move-In starts at 9 a.m. and campus will start getting busy by 8 a.m.
  • Give yourself extra time to get from your car to your office/work area.
  • Andrews Memorial Drive will be closed between Perkins Road and Wiltsie Drive, so plan your route in advance and give yourself extra time.

Academic Side

  • As much as possible, use the entrances off East River Road to enter campus.
  • ALL of D Lot and G Lot will be closed.
  • E, F, H, J, R, S, T, U and Global Village lots are also available for parking.

Residential Side

  • M Lot, Greenleaf Court, Grace Watson, and portions of C and K lots will be closed.
  • There will be some parking on the north sides of C Lot, K Lot and L Lot. (These lots will be partially barricaded starting Monday morning in preparation for Tuesday.)
  • Again, please remember that handicapped and other specialty parking privileges may be suspended for the day. Handicapped will still get priority (shortest distance), the spaces just may not be in the lots they usually park in.
  • Parents who are dropping their children off at Margaret’s House will get specific instructions from Margaret’s House.
  • The bus stop on the residential side of campus behind Kate Gleason Hall (building 35) will be closed. Please use the bus stop behind the Wallace Center.

If you are unfamiliar with the locations of these parking lots, please refer to the campus map.
