The Rod Blumenau Quintet perform ‘Jazz From the Silver Screen’

The Rod Blumenau Quintet will perform “Jazz From the Silver Screen” at Rochester Institute of Technology’s Ingle Auditorium at 8 p.m. April 21 as part of the Performing Artists Concert Series presented by RIT’s College of Liberal Arts.

The quintet will perform new, unique jazz arrangements of memorable tunes from movies over the years including “Tara’s Theme” from Gone With the Wind, “Theme from Dr. Zhivago,” “My Heart Will Go On,” “As Time Goes By,” “Moon River” and more.

Performers will be Ron Blumenau on piano, Gabe Condon on guitar, Doug Stone on saxophone, Brad Paxton on drums and Jeff Campbell on bass.

A reception will be held in the Fireside Lounge after the concert.

Tickets are $5 for students, $15 for RIT faculty/staff/alumni and $20 for the public. They may be purchased at the door, or in advance from the University Arenas Box Office at 585-475-4121 or online at rittickets.com.
