MBA program performs well in rankings

Program ranks second in career outcomes for graduates, solidifies college's mission of blending business with technology

The Online Executive MBA program in Rochester Institute of Technology’s Saunders College of Business ranked second in the category of career outcomes for graduates, and 13th overall, in the list of top online MBA programs by Poets&Quants, a leading resource for coverage of graduate business education.

“It’s really gratifying to see this broader recognition of our Online Executive MBA program,” said Marty Lawlor, program director and senior lecturer, Saunders College of Business. “Inclusion in Poets&Quants’ inaugural ranking of online MBA programs is a testament to both the commitment of our faculty and the discipline of the students. And we’re especially excited about our No. 2 two ranking on the dimension of career outcomes. This is consistent with RIT’s applied learning ethos and suggests that our students are finding great value and return on their investment in the program.”

Rankings were derived from three criteria: quality of incoming students, an assessment by graduates of the MBA experience in both academic and extracurricular areas, and career outcomes of the program’s graduates. Universities were surveyed on a variety of statistics including admission standards and global immersion trips. Alumni surveys, which were sent to MBA graduates who were two years removed from the program, inquired on a variety of topics including whether the program fulfilled their expectations and whether they would recommend the program to others.

Saunders College of Business Dean Jacqueline Mozrall believes the ranking helps to continue to tell the story of the college.

“It’s an honor to be recognized for our achievements,” said Mozrall. “This is just one example of our commitment to providing our students with relevant curricula that helps propel Saunders College of Business into the forefront of the minds of prospective graduate students looking for a top-notch business education where students come first. We are so proud of our alumni and the impact they continue to have around the world.”

Most recently, Saunders College’s Online Executive MBA program was ranked eighth in the nation by Princeton Review and 36th in the nation in the 2018 list of U.S. News & World Report’s Best Online Programs.
