Bill Larsen, retired associate professor of civil engineering technology, has worked with Sarah Brownell ’98 (mechanical engineering) to create solar-powered drinking-water-disinfecting units for use in Haiti and rural areas in other countries. Larsen won the Four Presidents Distinguished Public Service Award in 2005.
