Join the SMILE Workshop on Rural Youth Participation

As part of the Interreg Danube project Social Media Leadership Incubator for the Danube Region (SMILE), led at RIT Croatia by our faculty members Dr. Jasminka Samardžija and Dr. Martin Žagar, you are invited to a focused workshop exploring youth participation and leadership, with a special emphasis on young people in rural areas.

The SMILE Incubator project aims to empower youth living in rural areas by providing them with essential skills, competencies, and tools. The project seeks to reverse current trends by equipping young people with the necessary resources to succeed in their rural environment, promoting sustainable development and resilience in these communities.

This interactive session will bring together perspectives from education, policy, and civil society to discuss how young people engage in community initiatives, local decision-making, and public life, and where gaps between potential and real influence still exist. The goal is to identify concrete barriers and define realistic improvements that can inform future policy and practice across the Danube Region.
