RIT Croatia honors the Class of 2025 with commencement celebrations in Zagreb and Dubrovnik
RIT Croatia recently marked a significant milestone for its graduating class with commencement ceremonies held on May 22 in Zagreb and May 24 in Dubrovnik. These events celebrated the dedication and achievements of the graduates, who were joined in their moment of triumph by proud families, faculty, staff, and friends.
Presiding over the ceremonies were distinguished leaders from both RIT and RIT Croatia. Representing RIT Croatia were Dr. Irena Guszak, President and Dean, and Dr. Jakob Patekar, Associate Dean for Research and General Education. The Rochester Institute of Technology was represented by its President, Dr. David Munson, along with Dr. James Watters, Chair of the RIT Croatia Board and RIT’s Senior Vice President of Finance & Administration, and Dr. Jacqueline Mozrall, Dean of the Saunders College of Business.
In Zagreb, graduates were inspired by a keynote address from Lehady Sani-Agatha, COO and CTO of Spona and a 2021 graduate of RIT Croatia. Drawing on his own experiences, Lehady encouraged the new alumni to pursue their ambitions with determination and courage. Representing the student body, valedictorian Leo Maloča of the Web and Mobile Computing program delivered a heartfelt message reflecting on the shared experiences of her class and the promising path that lies ahead.
The Dubrovnik ceremony featured a motivational speech by Mato Franković, Mayor of Dubrovnik and an RIT Croatia alumnus. His words emphasized the importance of persistence and giving back to the community. Also speaking was Sanela Omerčahić, Director of Hotel Bellevue and a 2006 graduate, who offered valuable career insights and guidance to the soon-to-be professionals. Valedictorian Ana Vujović from the Hospitality and Tourism Management program moved the audience with her personal reflections on academic growth and future aspirations.
Niko Katušić, Vice President of the RIT Croatia Alumni Society, addressed attendees at both events, underscoring the enduring connection between alumni and the broader RIT Croatia community, and reaffirming the ongoing support available to graduates.
As the Class of 2025 begins a new chapter, they leave with a strong foundation built on knowledge, experience, and values nurtured during their time at RIT Croatia. The entire community congratulates them warmly and wishes them success and satisfaction in all that lies ahead.
